Concierge Medicine Q & A

What is concierge medicine?

Concierge medicine, also known as membership or private medicine, is a medical practice that provides you with the care and attention you need and deserve to achieve better health. Dr. Sujansky sees fewer patients and can, therefore, spend more time with you, restoring the direct connection and relationship between physician and patient.

With concierge medicine, Dr. Sujansky provides longer office visits to make sure all of your concerns can be addressed. She also makes herself available to you whenever you need her care or counseling, with 24/7 access by email or on her personal cell phone.

In a typical primary care practice, doctors have limited time to spend with each patient and don’t spend the quality time necessary to really understand your needs and concerns. With concierge medicine, Dr. Sujansky provides access, time, attention, and counseling, and partners with you to develop individualized treatment plans that include solutions you develop together. She also helps you manage and improve any chronic conditions by providing goal-centered follow-ups.

Dr. Sujansky knows her patients well and is free to spend as much time with you as you need to improve your overall health, prevent the onset of new health issues, and prevent any of your current health issues from worsening.

What does concierge medicine membership include?

The many advantages of a concierge membership program include:

  • After-hours assistance by a doctor who knows you
  • Prompt response inside or outside the office
  • Longer appointments
  • Same- or next-day appointments
  • Continuity of care
  • Home visits where required
  • Executive physicals
  • Screening tests
  • 24/7 availability

As well as offering an annual executive physical, Dr. Sujansky provides concierge clients with annual state-of-the-art body composition evaluations. This highlights the amount of muscle you have as opposed to fat, allowing for highly specific individualized dietary and exercise counseling.

Dr. Sujansky also maintains communication with any specialists and hospital staff you need to see, to ensure fast, effective treatment and a seamless transition between hospital and outpatient care.

How does the concierge membership work?

The cost of concierge membership is $250 per person per month or $3,000 per person per year if paid annually. Couples can join for $475 per month or $5,700 per year if paid in full. Medical care for children of members aged 18 to 25 is free. You can pay annually, quarterly, or monthly, but if you pay annually you get a 5% discount.

To get started, you need to complete a Patient Membership Agreement form and return it to Dr. Sujansky. Once you’re a member you no longer pay a fee for each visit, although some few services like acupuncture aren’t included in the membership.

The annual concierge fee includes services that Medicare doesn’t cover. Dr. Sujansky is a participating provider with Medicare and bills Medicare on your behalf as required by law for any sick visits and additional services that Medicare does cover.
